CharitiesThe Deaf Orphans' Educational TrustThe aim of the Deaf Orphans' Educational Trust is to become the leading provider of services for underprivileged and disadvantaged deaf orphans both in the UK and world wide. The Trust was founded in 2004. The spur in the UK was the lack of resources for children in schools and the problems of integration into mainstream education.. The Deaf Orphans' Educational Trust focuses on alternative approaches to learning which address the particular problems faced by such children. In Malawi the Trust has pioneered the use of videophones and training in their use. Felix Appelbe has been helping the Deaf Orphans' Educational Trust with fundraising and with introductions to other charities which can help, such as Book Aid and Fulcrum Challenge, and with influential bodies such as the Institute of Directors.
