James Freemantle
James is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Team dealing with all aspects of commercial and private client dispute resolution cases. James also deals with Solicitors' Assistance Scheme matters alongside the firm's panel members and works closely with the Family Team in respect of all aspects of family law and in particular co-habitation and reciprocal enforcement issues.
The firm's entry for the 2009 edition of the Legal 500 referred to "client favourite James Freemantle, whose knowledge of international maintenance matters is first rate".
After undertaking his Chartered Accountancy training at a London firm of accountants, James worked in the Litigation Department of Foxtons Ltd, the largest Estate Agency in London, alongside General Counsel.
James has completed his Higher Rights of Audience academic and skills requirements and is currently finalising his portfolio for submission in order to qualify as a Solicitor-Advocate. James became a partner at Ambrose Appelbe in January 2009.
James is a Trainee PADI Divemaster and RYA Day Skipper.
